Today was our last day in Rwanda.
We had asked Eli to meet us at the hotel before we set off to Kigali to say our final farewells and to hand over the last of our donations, i.e. our own clothes from the week.
On arrival to Kigali we visited a memorial site, Ntarama, which was central to a number of deaths during the genocide. A local guide explained to us what had happened at the church & although harrowing to try to contemplate what went on I felt it was an important way to end the trip & really brought to home again the nature & reason for us being there.
After this we had time for a quick bite to eat before heading to the airport to embark on our long journey home.
